Catching Up

Where we last left off I was about to head to San Antonio for a leadership course for 3 months. Now I'm back in Germany and implementing what I learned there to better our clinic here in Wiesbaden. But now I have some help.

While I was away we got two new technicians, one was expected and the other the Army sent to us without letting us know until she arrived on the doorstep (isn't the military great?!?!). My colleagues got her squared away however and so now I have two great techs helping me with the animals so that I can focus more on the management side of the VTF and not so much about being at the doctors' side for everything. As I progress though the ranks on the enlisted side I will eventually fade away from animals all together and focus more on leadership and paperwork. Not the most exciting thing to look forward to (hence the plans to become a veterinarian) but it's part of the military thought process.

Anyways the weather right now is great! It's been a week since I last saw clouds and for this place that's great. No one wants to talk about the weather because they all feel they will jinx it and make the gloomy days come back. I even got out yesterday and started playing around with my balcony's flower box. I don't really have a green thumb but all my neighbor's have their flowers in already and in the spirit of competition (I'm probably the only one competing) I'm not going to have the ugliest balcony on the block!
