Two Giant Steps Towards The Next Promotion
The Army is changing the way they are doing promotions that will effect alot of people, me included. So I am putting forth all efforts to get promoted by 1OCT and this week I got two big steps out of the way to accomplish that. First off, I'm leaving here, and usually when you leave a place they look over your tenure at the post and give you some kind of award. I received my second Army Commendation Medal this week for everything I did while being in Japan. Woo-hoo!

Yesterday I, and two others I work with, went up to Camp Zama for our promotion board. For our promotions we have to sit in front of a board of senior NCO's and they bombard us with questions. These questions, as leaders, we should know. After the board they let us know how well we did and give us a score based off of performance. This score, grouped with scores form other categories (college, weapons qualifications, PT, and awards) determines are overall promotion score. This score is looked at when the Dept. of the Army comes to promote people. If they want to promote 3 people in our MOS then they take the top three scores. Simple as that. Now all I need to do is take one more college class and get my two mile run time to under 13 minutes. Simple right? We shall hope so!!
