Not your typical Super Bowl.....
Move over Frito Lay and Pepsi, make room for Jimmy Dean sausage and Sunny Delight. After the morning workout I joined some friends for my first ever SuperBowl breakfast party. It was a little rainy so we had to cook the steak and eggs inside but overall had a pretty good spread without any chips and salsa, pizza, or buffalo wings. Being 15 hours ahead has its perks, especially when the higher-ups in the chain of command are football fans, thus leading to an additional day off. Too bad there weren't any good teams in it this year. I didnt have a know alot of people from either area, so no one was terribly dissapointed with the outcome. I on the other hand proudly wore my Chiefs jersey, (even though we should of been the sixth team in the playoffs, thus leading to a championship, but whatever, I'm not bitter.) We don't get any commercials during regular television hours over here and the Super Bowl was no exception. So that was the only drawback, we could actually get up and reload the plates during timeouts as the normal AFN (Armed Forces Network) spots (that we've seen hundreds of times) ran in their place. Only two more years of this breakfast thing so I probably shouldn't get used to it.......
