The Army Gets a New Look

Seen pictures of weird looking uniforms when watching news coverage on the war? I guess the Army was ready for a change so they have had this new uniform in circulation trying it out in combat situations. Finally during summer we got a memo stating it was okay to start purchasing these and wearing them in non combat situations like I'm in down here. The biggest change is the brown boots instead of the black ones, now, no more polishing, finally. I ordered mine in the summer and finally got them this week. Apparently everybody that could was buying them and the suppliers were severly back ordered. The article with the new look and description can be found here. Alot of people on the outside don't like them, leave some comments on what you think....

Okay it's cold now.

That nice weather we had over the Thanksgiving Holiday didn't last long. Winter here is awful. The once refreshing sea breeze is now a biting blusterous force that makes venturing outside a chore. On top of that is the five minute downpours that happen everyday. It will be dry one minute then the next theres a sudden shower. We get snow about every other day but their just flurries and it hasn't gotten cold enough to stick.

The holiday spirit is here as well. I walked downtown last night and saw that the whole city had lights up and was decorated for the season. It came to a shock because the most popular religion is Buddism and I don't ever recall Buddha being born so late in the winter. Maybe they're just excited that all the Americans are buying bits of Japan to send back home for presents (like me). With all the income generating I guess I would be celebrating too.
